Why Choose This Sustainable Stationery Canada Brand?

While Porchlight Press is highly celebrated for its high-end sustainable stationery Canada paper goods, they apply that exact same eco-conscious ethos and artisan care to their home textiles. This premium tea towel is meticulously crafted from 100% natural, unbleached flour sack cotton, which is grown and woven with environmental longevity in mind. Flour sack cotton is highly prized by gourmet chefs because it is completely lint-free, exceptionally soft, and uniquely absorbent, making it far superior to synthetic microfiber or heavy polyester towels. Screen-printed using water-based, non-toxic inks, this durable towel retains its crisp lines and rich color definition even after countless trips through the washing machine.

Premium Features of Porchlight Press Tea Towel

  • Exquisite Hummingbird Illustration: Captures the delicate, energetic spirit of Anna’s Hummingbird in a timeless botanical art layout.

  • 100% Premium Flour Sack Cotton: Woven from heavy-duty, ultra-absorbent natural fibers that dry quickly and never leave stray lint on your glassware.

  • Eco-Friendly Water-Based Inks: Screen-printed with clean, safe, and earth-minded inks that embed directly into the fabric for a soft-to-the-touch finish.

  • Generous, Versatile Sizing: Offers a large, functional surface area perfect for drying large pots, lining bread baskets, or polishing fine crystal.

  • Sustainable Stationery Canada Heritage: Conceived, designed, and finished with a dedication to local craftsmanship, making it an excellent housewarming or holiday gift.

Usage Tips for Maximum Performance

To unlock the maximum absorption potential of your Anna’s Hummingbird Tea Towel, wash it in cold water with a mild detergent before your very first use. Flour sack cotton naturally relaxes and expands after its initial wash, becoming incredibly thirsty and efficient. When laundering, tumble dry on low heat or hang-dry to preserve the structural shape of the fibers. Avoid using liquid fabric softeners or chlorine bleach, as softeners leave a microscopic coating that reduces absorption, and bleach can degrade the natural organic cotton threads over time.

About Porch Light Letterpress
Heather Braun is the Founder and Creative Director at Porchlight Press based in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She has been playing with paper and drawn to colour and texture for as long as she can remember. Born and raised on the West Coast, her inspiration comes from the the local flora and fauna, and the natural colour palettes and textures of the outdoors. Her products are a blend of beauty, simplicity and as often as she can, a touch of humour. She worked professionally as a landscape architect and graphic designer for several years, but after being given a small letterpress machine by a friend, her entrepreneurial spirit bubbled up. She realized that many of her personal loves could be found in letterpress so she struck out to create Porchlight Press about 8 years ago. Finding a printing press in a barn in Napa Valley to an auction in Baltimore, she gathered her tools of the trade, each having a unique story and link to the rich history of letterpress printing. Slowly but surely, she has built a bustling studio both printing on antique presses for others commercially as well as creating and hand printing a stationery line she is very proud of. Her studio also offers workshops throughout the year to allow the public to play and get their hands dirty with her extensive collection of antique wood and metal type. We participate in community events like East Side Culture Crawl where we get to open our doors and share our passion with the public.
