Boreal Heartland Herbal Products Inc. is an Indigenous-owned and operated business based in Air Ronge, SK, on Treaty 6 and Treaty 8 territories. Founded in 2017, Boreal Heartland is an initiative of the Keewatin Community Development Association, a non-profit dedicated to fostering economic growth in northern Saskatchewan. Our mission is to create sustainable income opportunities for local communities while showcasing the unique value of the boreal forest. We provide fair wages to over 75 harvesters, mostly Indigenous, who sustainably gather plants and mushrooms in the northern landscape. Through our commitment to environmental sustainability, traditional knowledge, and community empowerment, we offer a range of products, from healthful teas to gourmet mushrooms, all while promoting respect for the land that has supported northern peoples for thousands of years.
